About me
Hmmm. What should you know about me? I like to focus on the present moment, and try to observe and connect with my environment. I enjoy the observations that one can make and that others can share. I guess that’s why I started this blog. It is a way to compile the different observations and the product of those.
As far as the history of me, I grew up in Dickinson, TX south of Houston and always enjoyed art, dance, and sports. I was very crafty and liked to make things from an early age. My mom and my nanny taught me how to make baby clothes for my dolls, and my mom bought me a giant box of beads when I was about 7. I still have a few from that box. I always liked making cute things, but I enjoy giving them, even more. I still love to design gifts, and many of my projects will appear on my blog.
I decided to go to Rice University for college. I loved my Studio Art major and after a couple of years, dropped my second major of Computer Science and pickes up Managerial Studies. I had a lot of fun in those 4 years, as I think a lot of people do. I switched to baking for most gifts (cheaper) and explored new art techniques in my classes. I came out of school looking towards graphic design, and began a job at InSync Internet/Reliant Communications/We’re Laying you Off in a Year & a Half. So I took my severence, went to Europe for 6 weeks, and realized that I wanted to do design hands on. Then, a bead store, (nightmare) restaurant, move to LA, restaurant, interior design firm, bead store, jewelry design company later, I’m here, doing graphic design and loving it.
On a personal note, I met my husband, Brendan, shortly after moving to LA, and we were married 2 years later. Our 5th anniversary is in May, and I can’t believe how the time has flown. He’s a perfect match for me, and we’re 2 peas in a pod (as my in-law’s say). I’m very fortunate to have married into such a great family. He and I are vegetarian and that works well for us.

We have a purrfect cat, Niko, who is lovely to be around. We think she’s about 5 years-old. She was a rescue that had already raised a litter. I’m sure I’ll write about her and her escapades.
So that’s a little about me. I’m working to find a niche in the eco-friendly design world whilst keeping up with my many projects. Stay tuned…
